I'm a teacher, new mama, and author of this blog. My mission is simple: to support moms and teachers in the important work they do by sharing resources, connecting, and coaching. Taking care of others can be demanding, but with the right help, it can be joyful and rewarding too.
I've wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I used to make my brother play school with me because I wanted to teach so badly. After graduating from my French immersion high school in Canada, I had the chance to teach a grade 5 class in Mexico City in 2018, where I felt affirmed in my calling.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in 2021 and my education degree in 2023. I got married in May to my loving husband, and was soon thrown into the Manitoba public education system with little experience under my belt. I taught a grade 1 class in 2024 and a kindergarten class in a completely different division in 2025 — and I was shocked by how hard those first years were. With high needs in my classrooms, real support was scarce: funding for EAs and resources was thin, and there was rarely anyone I could turn to. So I learned to build my own systems, ones that actually worked for me and my students.
In the summer of 2026, I gave birth to my son and took a year of maternity leave to focus on being a new mom. But even as I recovered, those classroom problems kept turning over in my mind. As my energy slowly came back, so did a deep desire to do something — to help myself, and to help other teachers and moms like me.
That's why I started this blog: to share stories, advice, and resources. My hope is that every teacher and mother can find the practical support they need to make their lives — and the beautiful work they do — a little more full of joy.
